I frequently stick fortune cookie fortunes away and find them years later when I least expect it, and I scribble quotes in notebooks and never compile them into a master document. When I stumble upon them, these presents to myself never fail to inspire me or make me smile. Tonight I opened and old notebook and found the following:
Your life is the sum total of many choices. -- Fortune cookie fortune
Anything with the power to make you laugh over 30 years later isn't a waste of time. I think something like that is very close to immortality. -- A quote from "Hearts in Atlantis" by Stephen King (one of my favorite books, by the way ... not scary, either)
